- Anaheim Landing, located at the NE corner of Seal Beach Blvd. and Electric Ave, in what is now known as Seal Beach (incorporated 1915); in 1857, the Anaheim Lighter Company (Frederick Schneider, president) established Anaheim Landing as a port for the Santa Ana Valley; despite treacherous entrance conditions that caused several disasters, regular coastwise trade was carried on here for about 15 years; image shows view of small house at the landing with two men standing, one holding reins of horse hitched to a buggy, and two women sitting on front porch of house; folding chairs and bird cage visible on porch; horse-drawn buggy visible at right; handwritten white text across bottom of photograph reads "ANAHEIM LANDING 1891"; photographer's credit printed in brown ink across bottom of mount board, "Hardesty & Armstrong, Photographers, Los Angeles, Cal., 1891."
